Troops from Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), alongside other security agencies, have successfully dismantled a criminal syndicate in Taraba State in a decisive series of operations

He said the he coordinated efforts resulted in the apprehension of 10 suspects and the recovery of significant arms and ammunition.
The acting assistant director recalled that early on 22 July 2024, operations in Galeri and Kwondo Villages of Ardo-Kola and Bali Local Government Areas yielded the arrest of two key suspects, Ali Ibrahim aka Yellow and Wetti Alhaji Ibrahim.
He added that among the items seized were an AK 47 rifle and 3 rounds of ammunition, pointing out that the the suspects confessed to tie with terrorist leader Kadogo Fun, operating in neighboring states.
In a separate operation targeting terrorist groups in Southern Taraba, eight additional suspects were captured, according to him.
According to the captain,the group, dressed in military camouflage, was involved in rampant attacks and kidnappings, adding that items sized them are military uniforms, cash, and ammunition linked to notorious gang leader Terwase Akwaza, aka Gana.
He said the successful operations underscored the effective collaboration between Brigade 6 and local communities.
The Brigade commander, Brig,Gen.Kongsley Uwa, commended the troops and urged continued public support to maintain peace and security across Taraba State,as well advising vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
