Kogi Assembly okays 2 Commissioner nominees, 50 Special Advisers for Ododo.

Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and approved for appointment, 50 Special Advisers, screened and confirmed two Commissioner nominees, as requested by the Executive Governor of the State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Our correspondent reports that,the House, the 8th Assembly in the State, on Tuesday in Lokoja,confirmed the two Commissioner-nominees and approved the request by the Executive Arm to appoint the 50 Special Advisers, at its plenary.

The Commissioner nominees are:Dr. Adeniyi Helen Aderibigbe,from.Ijumu Local Government Area of the state who takes charge of the Ministry of Innovation Science & Technology, and Atuluku Levi Victor, from Omala Local Government Area,saddled with the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation.

Speaking with journalists, shortly after the exercise ,Dr.Aderibigbe,who promised to put in her best in realizing the campaign promises of the present administration in the state reiterated her commitment to make the state and the nation proud, through hard work and diligence.

“As the name of my Ministry implies innovation, the first thing to be brought in is innovation. We will review what is on ground. Actually, is a new Ministry but it is not a strange Ministry.

“There has been precedence as regards the Ministry. We will study what is on ground, take our own review, see areas that improvement has to be put in. If there is need for change we will change. If there is need for restructuring,we will restructure.

“That is the innovation aspect of it which will encourage the scientific approach to almost every issues that is on ground. We will study every problem on ground, then we device means of providing solution for the problem.

“For us, this is the technology aspect of it. I want to see Kogi State that other States will be emulating in terms of technological improvement”, She added.

The Assembly also approved the request by the Executive to appoint 50 special advisers to work with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
