The President, Ahmadu Bello University,ABU,Alumni Association,World Wide, Alhaji Adamu Mamnan Kontagora, has appointed the Publisher of The Reporters, Alhaji D.U Ahmed as a member, Editorial Committee, Convocation special edition of Alumni Magazine of the university.

who disclosed this to Alhaji Ahmed via telephone conversation on Friday, said that the appointment was based on merit and in recognition of the Ahmed’s contribution in projecting the image of the association to the world in good light through publicity.
He expressed optimism that the the publisher and members of the committees would not betray the confidence the association reposed in them.
Alhaji Ahmed, the pioneer Public Relations Officer,PRO, ABU Alumni Association, Kogi and Nasarawa State branches, was recently reelected into the same position in kogi state branch, unopposed.
Later in a statement the President of the association sent to Alhaji Ahmed, Alhaji Mamman Kontagora named other members of the Editorial as follows: Madina Azaki, Chairman, Prof Maryam Aminu,

He said: “Recall our action plan and also the Convocation Alumni Magazine we intend to showcase.
“After due consultation, I am able to come up with 2 forms of committees: Editorial and Advisory.”
The president, world wide also announced the membership of the Advisory Committee to include:Sam Agbi. He directed Secretary General of the Association, World Wide,Dr.Danjuma Mahmoud to “formally inform members and encourage each committee to form a whatsapp up group for commencement with immediate effect.”
He congratulated members of the two committees and wished them good results.
Our correspondent recalls that Alhaji D.U Ahmed was the pioneer PRO of ABU Alumni Association in Kogi and Nasarawa states and was elected,unopposed, in the last election of the ABU Alumni Association Association, kogi state,about two months ago.
Reacting to the constitution of the two committees with particular reference to the membership of Alhaji Ahmed, Dr. Danjuma Mahmud,who is the immediate past Chairman, Care taker Committee,ABU Alumni Association, Kogi State branch, expressed delight over the development.
He wrote; “Is barely a month that the new Exco of the ABU Alumni Association,Kogi Branch was inaugurated.
“The yearning for the once upon a time vibrant Kogi Branch in the affairs of ABU Alumni Association, World -wide is gradually taking place.
“This is rightly so with the Exco working tirelessly ever since its inauguration to roll out programmes and activities for 2024.
“The impact and contributions of some of our Branch Executives,BE, especially on the NCC platform (Comprised of Chairmen and Secretaries of Branches) as well as ABU Alumni Forum of PROs (Comprised of PROs of all Branches), is noticeable.
” The resultant effect of this is the appointment of our dear PRO, Alhaji D. U. Ahmed as a member of the Editorial Committee, ABU Alumni Magazine by the President, ABU Alumni Association World wide.
“This will indeed guarantee our visibility in the eyes of the world and provide adequate coverage of our activities.

Meanwhile, a statement by the management of the Special Bulletin,ABU, Zaria,revealed that the 43rd convocation ceremony of the university would hold from Friday 26th to Saturday 27, January,2024.
According to the bulletin, the occasion will feature a lecture entitled,”This is Your Time:Set Fourth in Confidence And With Haste”,to be delivered by former Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke,an alumnus of ABU.
The bulletin added that former Chairman/Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission,Dr.Suleyman Ndanusa, another alumnus of the institution, would chair the occasion.
The management of the bulletin also disclosed that the Visitor to the university, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would be the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion, adding that the Kaduna State Governor,Sen.Uba Sani would be the Chief Host.
The Emir of Zazzau,Mal.Ahmed Nuhu Bamali would be the Royal Father of the Day, the bulletin said.
