Nov.11 gov’ship election in kogi will be peaceful.

The governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has assured the President,Bola Ahmed Tinubu,the National Chairman, the All Progressives Party,APC,Dr.Umar Ganduje and the people of the state that the November 11, governorship election in the state would be violent free.

He, however, stressed that the APC candidate in the exercise,Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate,Mr.Joel Oyibo, would win the election,”overwhelmingly.”

Bello stated this on Saturday at a zonal rally at Agassa in Okene Local Government Area of the state and the political headquarters of kogi central senatorial district of the state, during APC governorship rally in the area.
He said the fact that all the campaigns of APC towards November 11 had been peaceful showed that APC did not breed thugs,adding that rather,his administration had touched the life of many people in the state.
The governor called on kogites to vote for Ododo and Oyibo.
The governor, however, called on the security agencies in the state to “do their job professionally”, to check the conduct of those who might want to cause crisis during the exercise.
Bello,who urged the people of the three senatorial districts of the state to allow peace to be their watch word while exercise their civic responsibility during the,however, warned would-be trouble makers to think twice in their own interest and the peace of the state.
He particularly called on the people of kogi central to strengthen their friendship with their counterparts in the other two districts in the process of campaigning for Ododo, who is from kogi central,to ensure his electoral victory, come November 11.
The governor congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Sen. Kashim Shettima over the recent Supreme Court judgment which affirmed their election.
He pledged the loyalty and commitment of the ruling APC government in kogi state to the implementation of the renewed hope of the current administration in the country.
In his speech, the candidate of the party in the forthcoming election,Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo,also congratulated the president and his vice over the Supreme court judgment and Governor Bello, for his firm belief and support for his(Ododo’s) governorship ambition.
He promised to continue from where governor Bello would stop and consolidate on his achievements.
Our correspondent reports that many political bigwigs in APC, cutting across the three senatorial districts of the state, attended the crowd-pulling occasion.
