Police apprehend 3 suspected kidnappers in Kogi

The Police Command in kogi state says it has arrested three suspected kidnappers terrorizing Okene and its environs, Kogi Central Senatorial district of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO), for the command, DSP William Aya, disclosed this in a statement he issued on Thursday in Lokoja.

He said the suspects were arrested, following a distress call received by the police operatives attached to Special Ant-Robbery Squad (SARS).

He added the police were informed that a gang of armed robbers/kidnappers in a Nissan Altima car, with registration number CL 591 KTU, had kidnapped one lady name Hadiza Seidu at Total filling station, Okene.

Aya said the suspects drove toward Obangede area, Okehi Local Government Area but were given a hot chase by the police,an effort he said ledto their arrest.

The police image maker noted that operatives promptly swung into action, intercepted and arrested one Alabi Joseph Adeleke and rescued the victim and recovered one GSM handset and Altima car.

Aya said: “Further investigation led to the arrest of the duo of Abdulwaheed Solomon a.k.a Efosa and Bishop Eneji Cecil all of Adavi Local Government Area and Okehi Local Government Area respectively.

“All the suspects confessed to the crime while investigation is ongoing.They will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.”
