,,,,,,Nasarawa wins medal in golf

An eleven-year-old Marvelous Duru of Kogi State has won a bronze medal for the State in the 32kg girls category of the Judo event in the ongoing 7th edition of the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
James Sani, the Information Officer, kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, disclosed this in a release he signed and a copy made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday.
According to him, Duru defeated Judokas from Bauchi, Plateau and Ogun states, after she lost to Bayelsa in the 2nd round.
Sani added that in the judo competition, both side of the girls from the state battled with a great performance ,adding that ‘kogi won with a good performance at the end of the battle.”
The information officer quoted Suleiman, the coach of the Judo Athletes in Kogi State as making promise that the State Athletes would continue to do their best in the competition to win more medals back home.
Ize Sezuo,Sani further disclosed, lost however her Semifinal match against Aishat of Lagos State with 3-0 , which made her settle her Bronze medal in the girls single category.
Sani said Kogi Athletes had Won 1Bronze Medal in Judo and 4 Bronze Medal in Table Tennis.
These are Bronze in tennis, Boys Doubles, Bronze , Mixed Doubles, Bronze,Girls Singles, Bronze Boys Singles.
According to him, the Athletes from the state are in high spirit ,preparatory to win more laurels.
Meanwhile,report reaching The Reporters indicates that Team Nasarawa have won another medal in golf at the youth games.
Eche Amos,PRO,Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development,disclosed in a statement available to the online news media on Saturday.
He said Godwin John beat Adams Malik of Lagos State in the Bronze medal category to make it medal number two for Team Nasarawa, following the Silver Medal won the previous day in Taekwondo.
