Members of the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Kogi on Saturday joined their counterparts in the country in extolling the virtues of high level dedication and loyalty exhibited by the late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari.
In their submissions on the demise of Kyari in separate intervirw with Duaglobalnews in lokoja on Saturday,they said that Nigerians would surely miss.
The online publication recalls that Kyari died in a private hospital in Lagid on Friday,from Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and was buried in Abuja on Saturday.
Mr Sam Owoyomi,Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lokoja Branch said the deceased discharged his duties with utmost dedication and loyalty.
Owoyomi said the death had created a vacuum that would be hard to fill, in view of Kyari’s high-level service to the nation discharged creditably.
He said:,”The Bar is also saddened and pained for losing one of its own.
“He has put in his very best to the service of this country over a long time. Reports show that he discharged work creditably and really assisted the president in performing his functions.
“So, there’s going to be a vacuum in that area. We feel pained, we feel unhappy but It’s a thing we can do nothing about. We pray for his family, we pray for the wife and the children that God will comfort them.
“We have lost loyalty in his death, we have lost active and good service, we have lost dedication to duty. We pray God to grant the President, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, he said.
Contributing, former chairman of the Lokoja Branch of NBA, Mr Williams Aliwo, said the death of Kyari was a big blow to the Presidency and Nigeria in generally, particularly with regard to the pivotal role Kyari played in the administration.
“No matter how bad we feel about his dealings in the reign of things while he was alive, death is death and our sympathy goes to his immediate family and the Government of the Federation and we pray God to grant him eternal rest”, Aliwo said.
Mr Idris Miliki, the Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) said by the virtue of the position the late Chief of Staff occupied, serving the nation at one of the highest levels, he would be surely missed.
He described the deceased as a quiet achiever, highly educated and well experienced, adding that Nigeria had lost hid dedication to duty while he surely be missed.
“He was highly dedicated to his duty and that is why you saw him everywhere and even in courts on cases that concerned the president. The president will be missing his dedication and his experience,” he said.
Dr Akoh Ojonugwa, a lecturer with Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, described the world as “very temporal” with death as ultimate end for both the rich and the poor.
He prayed for repose of the soul of the Kyari and advised all to lead a life of service to God and humanity with a view to leaving behind, legacies for remembrance.
