The first female Commissioner of Police in kwara state, in 56 years, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, has assumed duty in Ilorin, the state capital.

Our correspondent recalls that kwara state was among the 12 first generation of States created in 1967 by the regime of General Yabuku Gowon.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, a copy of which was made available to the Reporters on Wednesday indicates that she took over the mantle of leadership of the command from CP Paul Odama who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.

CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi hails from Sagamu, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State and attended Federal Government College Kaduna where she obtained her Ordinary and Advanced Level General Certificates.

She was appointed to the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has worked in several Police commands and formations within and outside the country where she held several Command positions at various times.

The new CP holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from Ogun State University (Now Olabisi Onabanjo) and an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Security and Infrastructure Protection from the University of Lagos.

She had served in various challenging capacities across many States of the federation; she was on a United Nations peacekeeping mission to Liberia and Dafur among other public responsibilities, according to the PPRO.
