The Police Command in Ogun state has arrested ,Sikiru Ajibola(36), described as homosexual,for allegedly raping a 5-year-old boy to death in Ogijo area of Ogun state.
Our Correspondent gathered that the
suspect was arrested sequel to a report lodged at Ogijo divisional headquarters by CDA Chairman of Olorunwa Arogbeja Ogijo.
The CDA boss was qoutated as stating that one of the community members informed him that the suspect had unlawful carnal knowledge of 5 years old boy, leading to the death of the innocent boy.
The Reporters further learnt that upon the report, the DPO, Ogijo division, CSP Enatufe Omoh quickly detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a homosexual, adding that the boy died while he was rapping him.
Ajibola also confessed that he quickly dugged a shallow grave in a nearby bush, where he buried the boy.
He late took policemen to the place where he buried his victim.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi,who confirmed the tragic development, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments.
According to him, this is with a view to commencing further investigation and diligent prosecution.
