Pastor Fred Attabo,68, a resident pastor in charge of the Living Faith Church in Lokoja, Kogi state, on Friday slumped and died in his office after morning prayer programme held at the church.
Pastor Edwin Okolo, the church’s associate pastor,who confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria,NAN in Lokoja, said the death of his boss was “very shocking”.
“Our senior pastor slumped in his office, shortly after Friday’s Covenant Hour of Prayer this morning.
“When it happened, we took him to the Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, for medical attention.
“We accepted his death in good faith and have taken his body to the mortuary at Specialist Hospital, Lokoja,”he said.
The Correspondent of The Reporters recalls that barely a week ago in Lokoja,the deceased took active part in an activity where by the church relieved
over 1,000 victims of flood in kogi state with food packs.
The relief materials, sent by the Founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo was launched and distributed for people displaced by the 2022 flood incident in Kogi State.
While flagging off the distribution of the relief packages, the late State Pastor described the gesture as an initiative of the President and Founder of the Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.
He said: “We thank God for the Leadership of the Apostle over this Commission. Bishop David Oyedepo heard about the flooding and immediately mobilized resources to ensure that relief materials get to you( victims).
“I bring greetings to you, from our Father, the Apostle over this Commission who sent the relief materials that we are distributing today. It is my prayer that as you receive this package, you will begin to receive greater help from above.
“The token we are giving you is but to cushion the effects of the flooding and ameliorate the suffering of the flood victims.”
