The Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Bisi Kazeem, said nine persons died and 10 injured in a fatal motor accident that happened on Yangoji-Abaji portion of the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway on Sunday.
He made the disclosure while confirming the tragic event in a statement he issued in Abuja on Sunday.
According to Kazeem, the crash involved a Toyota Hiance Bus with vehicle registration number KTG-450 KQ and Howo Sino truck at about 06:05a.m on Sunday.
He said that the passenger bus was coming from Osun State and heading to Katsina State, but unfortunately crashed into the stationary truck.
Kazeem further revealed that the accident occurred at Sabon Gari village, near Gada Biyu of the road adding that the First Information Report,FIR,had been forwarded by Zebra16, Abaji.
“Twenty-two people were involved in the crash. They were all male. Ten were injured and nine were killed. First aid was given to two,”he said
Items recovered from the accident, according to him, are: N3,170, six bags and 4 different mobile phones.
