Hoodlums attack Governor’s wife’s convoy

Osogbo.

The convoy of the wife of the Osun State,Mrs Kafayat Oyetolawas on Friday night, attacked by some people suspected to be hoodlums

The Reporters gathered that the incident,which sources said lasted for five minutes, happened at Owode-Ede, in Ede-North local government area of the state.

Our Correspondent learnt that the convoy was heading for Osogbo when it was stuck in the gridlock at Owode-Ede.

Crisis was said to have started between the details and the things when security details attached to the convoy attempted to clear the traffic in a narrow way, to pave way for the convoy get out of the gridlock.

Sources added that in the encounter that ensued, hoodlums began to throw stones at the convoy while the details shot in the air in defence during which stone hit and injured two security details while the state first lady escaped unhurt.

“The situation lasted for about five minutes, forcing traders and motorists to run for safety before the convoy eventually escaped the attack”, said the source.

Confirming the incident, the Governor’s wife media aide, Iluyomade Oluwatunmise said there was no casualty, adding however that some security operatives were injured during the attack.

She thanked God that the incident did not record death, pointing out that those injured had been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
