The middle aged widow,Mrs Sefi Jimoh,who was abducted by men suspected to be Kidnappers on Saturday in Lokoja,has regained her freedom after four days in Kidnappers’ den.
The usual reliable family source,who preferred to be anonymous told our correspondent in Lokoja that Jimoh was released on Tuesday evening.
The source, who said that the victim,an environmental officer with the kogi state government, had been reunited with her family in Lokoja added, however,that the family paid unspecified ransom before Jimoh could regain her freedom.
The Kidnappers were said to have demanded for N10 million ransom for them to release their victim but due to plea by family, the money was reduced to N5 million but the online publication could not ascertain the final ransom paid for the release of the victim.
Our Correspondent recalls that Jimoh was Kidnapped at about 10 a.m on Phase2/Zone 8 road enroute Workers’ village,her residence, after attending morning prayer at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, Lokoja.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state,SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed the release of Jimoh in a telephone interview with our Correspondent.
He could not say the actual role of the police in the release but added that the cheering news must have been facilitated by the intensity of the manhunt mounted by the police and other security agencies for the Kidnappers.
