The Muslim Workers’ Welfare (MUSWOW), a faith-based humanitarian organisation in Kwara has donated over N8 million to 74 workers with health challenges in the state.
Alhaji Tajudeen Yinusa, the Immediate Past President of the MUSWOW stated this on Wednesday in Ilorin while delivering his speech at the Inauguration of new Executives members of the association.
According to him, members of the faith-based association tasks themselves to contribute towards welfare of Muslim workers in the state with various health challenges.
“It was through these contributions that we used over N8 million to assist about 74 members with genuine and verified needs,” he said.
He explained that MUSWOW, started in 2017, with a membership strength of about 1, 092 contributing various amount of monies monthly, and the lowest being N100.00.
Yinusa added that the workers initiated the platform as a way towards assisting Muslims in the employment of Kwara, who may be in dire medical need.
“The idea to establish the Muslim Workers’ Welfare (MUSWOW) in the State was also conceived pursuant to the dictates in the Holy Qur’an; which states “And help one another in righteousness and piety,” he said.
He observed that the Almighty Allah has used this platform to ease many burdens and pains of Muslim workers who otherwise could not afford medical treatments.
Yinusa advised that incoming Executive, to continue with the policy thrust of the association and ensure more workers in the state enrol and benefit form the humanitarian activities.
In his acceptance speech, Mallam Abubakar Abdulkadir, the President of MUSWOW pledge to ensure that the association continue to achieve its aims of financial support to Kwara Muslim workers who have various health challenges.
He also appealed to the past executives to continue to assist the incoming executives in their tasks.
