An Ebira community leader in Lokoja, kogi state, Daudu Ozi Salami,has urged the Ebira extractions, wherever they may reside, to make unity their watch word to ensure social, economic and polical development of Ebiraland.

He gave the advice on Saturday during the wedding ceremony between Latifa Suleiman and Muhammed Jamiu in Lokoja.
According to him, with the unity of purpose, the people concerned will be able to pull resources and ideas together and achieve the cause of their aims and objectives, individually as well as for the general good of ebiraland.
Salami,who was among the personalities at the high table at the colourful occasion, also called on the new couple to love, tolerate each other and hold their responsibilities sacrosanct, as the basis for ensuring blissful marriage stability of their family.
Earlier in his sermon, a cleric Malam Sanni, advised the couple to respect each other and get closer Almighty Allah as well as keeping to the injunction of Islam regarding marital responsibilities to receive Allah’s blessings among other advantages associated with marriage.
Our Correspondent reports that various cultural groups thrilled audience at the occasion with rich cultural dances of the people of ebiraland.
The Reporters reports that the Ebiras are found in the Central Senatorial district of kogi state, an area characterised by thriving commercial and social activities with Okene as the political headquarters of the district.
