An Abuja-based artiste, Mr Liberty Williams, popularly called ‘Pupayannis’, has called on the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja to give his case an expedite hearing.

He noted that the case was under Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu who has been recently transfered to the Federal High Court, Calabar.

The artiste made this known on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the way his case was being handled by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, after the transfer of Justice Ojukwu.

The Reporters recalls that the artiste instituted a suit against MTN and others, demanding N300m as damages, for using his song, titled ‘Love is Everything’ as MTN caller tune without his authorisation.

The artiste, who also sued MTN and others on October 2016, at the Federal High Court Abuja, in which the network provider, noted MTN, accepted that it got the song from a record label he never transacted any business with.

“I funded the production of my songs with my meagre resources, only to be denied the fruits of my labour and since then, I cannot go into any agreement with any promotion company as a result.

“My prayer is that, my case be given speedy hearing and to serve as a deterrent to other dubious business outfits that may want to indulge in such nefarious activities,”he said.
