Twin Sisters Steal Show at 2021 FUTA Convocation

Wonders, they say, will never end,a truism of the outstanding academic achievements of twin sisters who bagged first degrees recently at the Federal University of Technology,Akure (FUTA), Akure, Ondo state.

heGuests at the convocation ceremony of the University were amazed as beautiful and brainy Taiye and Kehinde Oluyale were pronounced first class and one of them emerged as best all round graduating students.

Both in building technology at the 2021 Convocation of the University.

As the outstanding academic achievements of the twins set tongues wagging, some guests said it also reinforces the need for parents to give their children good education and for the children, regared as the leaders of tomorrow, to imbibe the culture of hard work to achieve the best in life.

Taiye Oluyale, graduated with the best grade, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.89 (out of 5.00),thus setting a record-breaking result while Kehinde had 4.82 CGPA.

The story of two twin sisters, who offered the same course, in the same university, has also gained the attention of many social media users as it was shared on the University’s Facebook page with the twins posing for photo with their graduation gowns at the ceremony.

The awesome twins whose, the dedication to educational pursuit manifesting in uncommon achievements also received accolade from the institution, families and friends among others.

Taiwo emerged the best overall graduating student with a 4.89 CGPA while Kehinde made 4.82 CGPA.

In his speech at the occasion, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, the Vice Chancellor of the University,commended the twin sisters for their brilliant performance.

He disclosed that 160 students graduated with First Class honours while 1,334 students had Second Class ( Upper) Division.

Fuwape added that 1,483 students made Second Class ( Lower) Division, 222 students had Third Class Division and six had Pass.

Our Correspondent gathered that FUTA was established by the Federal government FUTA” to promote technological advancement by providing conducive environment for research, teaching and learning engenders development of products that are technologically oriented, self-reliant and relevant to society.”
