Kidnappers collect N400,000, cigarettes to release Kwara driver

A commercial driver from Kwara state,, simply known as Taofeek,who was recently kidnapped on February 1,2020 on Mokwa road Niger state has regained his freedom for his abductors.

Duaglobalnews recalls that the kidnappers had earlier demanded N1m before he could be re.leased but this later reduced to N500,000 by the kidnappers.

A family source, who spoke to this medium while the victim was still in the den of the abductors, Mr IsiaqOlojede, said the family of Taofeek had to negotiated with the kidnappers until the ransom was reduced.

The Chairman, Abuja-Suleja Chapel NUTW at the Maraba motor park, Ilorin Mr Olayinka Mogaji confirmed the release of the driver to this medium on Monday evening, through telephone interview.
Mogaji said the kidnappers collected N400,000 and 5 cartoons of cigarettes from the victim’s family before they could release him.

” We are happy that the driver has returned to the motor park safely.

“The kidnappers collected N400,000 and they also asked us to buy five cartoons of cigarettes, which we did, before they later released him.
“The condition they gave us is even better. Some victims’ families were asked to buy packs of Tramadol before they can release theirs.
