Breaking:Igala kingdom has new Attah Igala

Prince Matthew Opaluwa Oguche has emerged as the new Attah Igala of Igala Kingdom, following the approval of his appointment by the Kogi State Executive Council during its 6th meeting held at the Council Hall of the Government House in Lokoja.

Chief Opaluwa is of the Aju Ameacho ruling dynasty of the Igala kingdom.

The Attah designate is a product of St. Boniface Primary School, Idah where he finished in 1975, and proceeded to St. Peter’s College, Idah and obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1980.

Unrelented in his educational pursuit,he attended the School of Basic Studies, Ugbokolo in Benue State in 1981 and gained admission into the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria the same year and bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Administration in 1986 ,capping it up with Masters (MBA) degree in Business Administration in 1997.

Before his new appointment, he worked at the Independent National Electoral Commission in 1988 as an administrative officer and rose through the ranks to become a deputy director.

He has served in many local government areas of Kogi, Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory as an electoral officer but while in Katsina State, he was in charge of the Research and Documentation Unit of the electoral body.

The Reporters recalls that Chief Opaluwa succeeds Attah Igala Michael Ameh Oboni, who joined his ancestors about two years ago during a brief illness.
