The second democratically elected and ex-governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris,has promised to return the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to sane Democratic governance, if he emerges the national chairman of the party come Octobermber 31,2021.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris who made the promise while declaring his intention before the enlarged PDP members from kogi state and the North-Central in Abuja, said his intention was to reposition the main opposition party to wrestle power from APC led federal government in 2023.
He frawn over the exodus of top supporters of the party in recent time to other parties,describing the development as an obvious reason for the leadership gap in the last few years in the party but promised to reverse the ugly history.
The former Governor stated the grassroots support of the party, as the most popular political party in the West African sub-region,must be rejuvenated and redirected towards bailing Nigeria out of the current leadership gap when the next political dispensation commences in 2023.
He also promised to lead the PDP back to victory in 2023 general elections,as one of the experienced members of the party who had remained with the party through thick and thin.
Idris urged the party stakeholders at state,local governments and national levels to rally round him with a view to returning the party to sane democratic governance in 2023.
