Suspected killer of Suswam in police net

The Police Command in Nasarawa state has arrested one of the principal suspects in the killing of the brother of senator Gabriel Suswam, Terkula Suswam.

The Commissioner of police in the state, Mr Bola Longe, disclosed this in Lafia, the state capital during the weekend.

He said the police,acting on a tip off, got the information that a group of assassins had concluded plans to strike at some locations within Karu Local Governnent Area axis of the state, with the full aim of eliminating their victims in the process.

Longe added that his men conducted a thorough search of the suspect’s hide-out and recovered two Berreta Pistol, three Volkswagen Golf cars which he admitted were bought from the proceeds of the criminal activities and being used for neferous activities.

He said thorough investigation had shown that “one of the suspects named Saalumun Waako is a member of the criminal gang responsible for the gruesome murder of one late Terkula Suswam, the elder brother to Senator Gabriel Suswam on March 2,2021 at Ayin village, Logo Local Governnent Area of Benue State.”

He said Saalumun Waako had also been on the wanted list of Benue Police Command for offences ranging from kidnapping, homicide to armed robbery, adding that he had been handed over to the Benue State Police Command for further investigation.

The police boss further disclosed that the gang intended carrying out it’s operation around Uke, Nyanya Gwandara areas and along Keffi-Abuja express road.

He announced that the suspects were all arrested on July 2nd 2021 at about 1930hrs, when a vehicle conveying them was trailed and blocked at a spot along Keffi- Abuja road.

He warned people with questionable character to leave the state, adding there was no hiding place for them.
