Suspected Kidnappers kill Army General,abduct sister in FCT

As all hands on deck to rescue Kidnapped first class traditional ruler in kogi state,the Adogu of Egayin, Alhaji Mohammed Odembe and the Managing Director,Azeco Pharmacy,Okene, Abdulazeez Obajimoh, an Army general, Hassan Ahmed, has been killed and his sister abducted in the neighboring FCT by suspected Kidnappers.

The online publication gathered that, Ahmed, a Major General, a former Provost Marshal, Nigerian Army and a director,army headquarters,Abuja, his last appointment before his assassination, was killed on Thursday night in the Abaji axis of Lokoja-Abuja high way.

Family Sources disclosed that the deceased was coming from Okene, enroute Abuja when the suspects struck, killed him and took away his sister traveling with him.

According to one of the sources, the suspected kidnappers opened fire on the general’car and in the process,snuffed life out of him.

The source further said that the driver of the deceased survived being killed because he pretended to be dead, even though he sustained injuries from the gun shots by suspects.

The online publication recalls that the deceased was one of the high ranking army officers appointed into positions, recently, by the new Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya.

The Director Army Public Relations,Brig-Gen.Onyema Nwachukwu,who confirmed the incident in a statement in Abuja, said the remains of the general would be accorded with befitting burial at Lungi Barack Cemetery on Friday.

He conveyed the sympathies of the Chief Chief of Army
Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, officers and men of the military arm to the deceased’s family.
