A frontline Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 Governorship Election in Anambra State, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, has promised to prioritise provision of constant supply of electricity, if I given the mandate to governance the state in the next political dispensation.

He made the promise in Umuchu, his country home while fielding questions from the correspondent of The Reporters on Monday.

Ezeemo, who owns Orient groups of company, ranging from hospitalty, media, agriculture and oil and gas among others, said as an entrepreneur, he realised that the greatest impediment to social and economic development of the state and Nigeria at large is epileptic power.

He said:”As an entrepreneur, I am at great pain in running my companies, because there is no adequate power to activate them for maximum productivity.

“Given this unfortunate circumstance therefore, I have no option than resort to using diesel to power my equipment and this takes a lot of my resources with corresponding negative effects on the income.

“Therefore, fixing Anambra State with constant energy,by harnessing various energy resources and potentiities of the state will stimulate productive efforts and people will engage in various social and economic activities while crime and criminality will reduce to the barest minimum.

On education, the governorship aspirant said he would lay emphasy on technical education with a view to equipping youths with technical knowledge to enable their brain and hand to be productive in reality with the current demand in the 21st century.

Mr Ezeemo, who disclosed that his company employed about 20,000 workers earnin living wages every month, noted that most of his employees were those who if left on their own could not perform to expectation.

” My dream, if the people of Anambra State give me the opportunity to govern them is to ensure that henceforth, our education is that our youths will be trained on what they can use their hands to do and not just arming themselves with paper qualification which only theoretical knowledge,” he added.

On why he is in politics in spite the fact that he superintends over groups of company, Ezeemo, said he came into politics not to indulge self aggradisement but serve the people, reduce poverty, add value to life and be Christ-like in leadership to bring the much needed peace and development to humanity.

Many people in Umuchu who spoke with our Correspondent, described Mr Ezeemo as humble, humane, God-fearing and a worthy son of the town who is touching many lives positively with provision of employment to thousands of people, coupled with philanthropic activities.

They noted that, if as an individual Mr Ezeemo could uplift the social and economic life of the rural populace, by virtue of his companies which is providing jobs to thousands of people in Umuchu and beyond the shores of the town, he would do more as the next governor for the generality of Anambrans.
