Ebira World Wide(EWW), a social media group with members cutting across many parts of the world, has bestowed on the Managing Director/Editor in Chief of The Reporters, a news media outfit, Alhaji D. U Ahmed with the title of EWW FACE OF PEACE AMBASSADOR for exibiting exemplary conduct.
The Reporters gathered that the award is the first of its kind since the formation of the organization.
The Chairman, Peace and Disciplinary Committee of the global organization, Apostle Hanson Anoze Abbas, bestowed the award on Ahmed on Saturday,following what the management of the organization described as Ahmed’s exemplary conduct in setting conflict.
Our correspondent reports that the Reporters boss, who is a member of the of the social media organization, had erroneously posted wrong message to the organization and when questioned, tendered unreserved apology.
However, the management of the organization considered the humility exibited by the Managing Director as worthy of commendation and rewarded him with the award,to as serve as a morale booster to others in resolving conflict amicably.
Abbas described Ahmed as a great man of honour to whom he was proud of.
He said:” Sir Ahmed, our beloved brother, by the display of great sense of humility while resolving an issue of post in an error, on behalf of the Peace Committee, I bestow on you the EWW FACE OF PEACE AMBASSADOR for others to emulate.
“This is to show most of us the way of humility expected when resolving issues.”
Speaking from Canada, the Executive Chairman of the group, Alhaji Ogu(SKEN) said:”Ahmed is truly a man of peace and adoration. We shall all learn from your wealth of knowledge in terms of conflict resolutions.
“I am highly pleased with this unique position accorded you sir. “You are the first to hold this title among members in this group and we hope many others will follow this your exemplary nature.
“There is hope in our collective engagement and we are glad you acknowledged this basic concept of peace.”
Other members described the honour done to The Reporters’ boss as absolutely awesome and stressed the need for them to strive to achieve a peaceful environment that would be conducive for the society to develop as desired.
They noted that peaceful environment would ensure smooth business engagement for the people and bring about peace and development to the society in general.
Responding, the new EWW Peace Ambassador described the honour as historic and overwhelming and thanked the management and members of the group for the outstanding recognition.
He described Ebira World Wide(EWW) as an organization very keen in watching the conduct of its members and ready to reward their good step.
Ahmed assured the group that the title would motivate him to enhance his peaceful relationship with other members of the group and beyond its scope, as well as boost his skill of resolving conflict in the society.
“The word sorry, which I used when information got to me that I posted a wrong information to our vibrant platform, is very difficult for many to use when at fault, but for me, it is the easiest word to use in resolving conflict with others. The word sorry is very key in conflict management,if the world must witness peace and the desired realistic development.
“If the guilt can swallow pride and say, I am sorry to the offended, most of the crises we face today will be a thing of the past and the world will witness the desired peace that has eluded us in the society today.
“Let’s resolve to cultivate the culture of always accepting our fault when we are convince we are wrong as our contribution toward entrenching peace in our homes and the large society, it pays to do so,”he urged.
The Reporters reports that EWW was established by a group of Ebira extraction living in many parts of the world with well structured executive council, to discuss issues that will bring about all round development to Ebiraland.
