The Police Command in kogi state, in a bid to ensure a safe and secured environment for all citizens in the state,has introduced a ‘Rescue Me App’.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the command,DSP William Ayah, in a statement made available to The Reporters, an online publication in Lokoja on Monday added that the aim of APP was to aid the timely arrival of security forces at crime scenes anywhere in Nigeria.
He said the app, could be downloaded from Google Android/IOS App Stores, Nigeria Police National Command Control Safety Centre official website: www.npfc4i.com
” The application is free and open for usage on 24hrs/7 day basis.
“To this end, the Kogi State Police Command hereby urges members of the public to maximize this opportunity by downloading the app, as a mechanism for crime prevention and control.
“Remember, security is everybody’s business, therefore, ensure you make use of this to prevent your’s from being a victim of crime,” he said.
Some members of the public, in their reaction to the new development in crime prevention in the state, commended the Police, hoping that the move would go along way to check crime and criminality in the area.
” We have been expecting increased security measure against the criminals in the state for some time now and now the police have answered our clarion to put the criminals at bay.
“It is an effort worth being praised. As criminals are not relenting in their henious crime against innocent members of the public, the need to double check them cannot be overemphasized,” Elder Joseph Anakobe, a retired civil servant, told The Reporters in an interview at Gadumo, Lokoja.
