Council boss, local hunters rescue kidanapped victims in kogi

The Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state, Mr Taufiq Isa,Local Hunters and Vigilantes have rescued the wife of the former Kogi West PDP zonal chairman, Barr. Taiwo Kola-Ojo Ojo and three others, kidnapped recently in the state.

The Reporters gathered that at the peak of the search for the victims, the chairman was said to have led the local hunters and the Vigilantes, where they combed the den of the Kidnappers within the vicinity of Igbo-Iffe severally and were able to rescued the victors from their captors.

The elated wife of the former zonal chairman, however, explained that their captors beat and starved them of food.

She said that she fell into the hands of the Kidnappers at Igbo-Iffe area on her way from Okoro Gbede to Lagos, after mourning the death of her husband when the criminal elements struck.

Mrs Kola-Ojo added that before leaving the Kidnappers’ den,two other victims were subjected to severe pains for four days.

She thanked the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area Council,Hon.Taufiq Isa and the Local Government local hunters and vigilantes for for saving and rescuing her life.

Isa inturn, lauded the Governor Yahaya Bello and the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Commodore Jerry Omodara (rtd) for their maximum and moral support during the challenging period.

He further also the Local hunters and vigilantes for their efforts toward curbing criminality in the area.

The Reporters reports that Kidnappers and other criminal elements have been having field day on their victims cutting across the three Senatorial districts in the state for sometime now.

The ugly development prompted the state government,in collaboration with the police, to establish two
Police Mobile stations in Okene and the other at Obajana- Kabba road to check the menace, among other security measures.

The online publication also reports that local hunters arrested some Kidnappers tormenting the life of innocent travellers on Lokoja- Okene High way, few days ago, in a renewed effort to wrestle the state from the punitive hands of the  criminals in the state..
