Idogido-Okene in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, burst into colour and celebration on Monday as drumming, dancing and joyful chants filled the air when a former Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Oneta Salami, proudly gave his son, Sezuo, in marriage to Orahachi Lantana Suleiman.

Our correspondent reports that the vibrant traditional engagement, which culminated in the wedding fatiha(Nikkah) at Kahal Cinema in Okene, drew the presence of many prominent personalities from within and outside Kogi State.

Members of the Kogi Central Think Tank Forum (KCTTF), led by their Chairman, Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, alongside one of the Forum’s respected elders, Hajia Ladi Ibrahim, were among the eminent dignitaries who graced the occasion, not only to celebrate the union but to honour one of their own, Alhaji Salami.
In their separate remarks at the event, Dr Yussuff and Hajia Ibrahim expressed profound joy over the bond of unity forged between the two families of the couple,Alhaji Ahmed Oneta Salami and Malama Suleiman Musa,describing the marriage as a welcome and heart-warming development.
They congratulated the newlyweds and urged them to uphold love, mutual respect and the guiding principles of marriage, while remaining steadfast in their relationship with Almighty Allah through prayers, so as to enjoy a peaceful, fruitful and enduring union.
