The management of MRS Filling Stations in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Sunday began selling petrol at ₦739 per litre, in line with the pricing directive issued by the Dangote Refinery.

Checks by our correspondent at the vicinity of Ganaja junction in Lokoja on Sunday, revealed that the new pump price was implemented across MRS outlets in the state following official communication from the refinery, which supplies the product.

Our correspondent, however, observed that only MRS sold the product at the reduced price, while other filling stations retained the old rates, ranging between ₦820 and ₦840 per litre.

The development has sparked mixed reactions among motorists and residents, many of whom expressed concern over the rising cost of transportation and the likely positive impact of the reduced by the filling station on the prices of goods and services.
Motorists, who urged sustainability and further of the price of the product, while chatting with our correspondent, called on other filling stations to emulate MRS management.

The Reporters recalls that about a week ago, the Dangote Refinery announced the new price on a radio station in Lokoja and urged members of the public to report any MRS outlet that failed to comply with its directive.
