Justice Okino Gives Daughter in Marriage as Egbira Elites Grace Grand Ceremony in Kogi

Justice Saeedu Okino of the Shari’a Court of Appeal, Kogi State, on Friday, December 27, 2025, gave his daughter, Fauziyya Oyizah Okino, away in marriage in a colourful and well-attended ceremony that brought together prominent sons and daughters of Egbira land from across the country.

The wedding, which took place in a serene and dignified atmosphere, was a testament to Justice Okino’s towering reputation in public service, as dignitaries from the judiciary, legal profession, academia, Islamic scholarship and the business community converged to witness the solemnisation.

Fauziyya Oyizah Okino was joined in matrimony to Idris Musa, a member of the family of former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Momoh Jimoh Lawal, marking the union of two respected families in the state.

Radiant in elegant traditional attire, the bride drew admiration from guests, while Justice Okino, visibly fulfilled, expressed profound gratitude to Allah for blessing his daughter with a worthy life partner and for granting the family the grace to witness the joyful occasion.

A major highlight of the ceremony was an hour-long marriage discourse delivered by Sheikh Muhammad Salihu Abere, the Chief Imam of Egbira Land, who offered deep insights into the ethical and spiritual foundations of a successful Islamic marriage.

He urged the couple to uphold patience, mutual respect, love, and fear of Allah as the pillars of a peaceful and enduring family life.

The event attracted an array of notable personalities, including the Ohi of Okene, HRH Dr. Alhaji Isah Okatahi Manman, renowned academics; Prof. Abdullahi Sanni Rufai, Prof. Saidu Sadiq, Prof. Jimoh Isah, Prof. Momoh Sanni; and respected jurists, including Justice Momohjimoh Usman Siyaka.

Also in attendance were the President of the Kogi State Customary Court, Dr. Alhaji Suleiman Salihu Enehe; the Executive Chairman,Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Barr. Abdulkarim Suleiman; the Director-General of the Kogi State Citizens’ Rights Defenders Commission, Barr. Idris Musa Onogoh; and His Highness Alhaji Yusuf Ohidah Odeyani Anebirra Kubwa/Buwari, alongside representatives of the Kogi State Council of Ulama and the Muslim League of Imams.

The gathering was marked by prayers, goodwill messages and a strong sense of communal pride, reflecting the cultural and religious values cherished by the Egbira people.

As the new couple begins their conjugal journey, the writer joins family, friends and well-wishers in praying that Allah grants them His Rahma, guidance and enduring happiness in their marriage.
