The Head Coach of Confluence Queens, Musa Abubakar, says his team is fully prepared,both mentally and physically,to deliver a strong performance as they face Remo Stars Ladies in their Matchday Three fixture of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
Our Correspondent reports that the Lokoja-based side will host their opponents on Wednesday in Iyamho, Edo State, as they seek their first victory of the 2024/2025 campaign.
The Queens opened the season with a 2–2 draw against Abia Angels before falling 4–0 to FC Robo Queens in Lagos.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Abubakar revealed that the technical crew had carefully reviewed the team’s previous outings and made the necessary tactical adjustments.
“Actually, we have done all the necessary build-ups and the preparation was excellent. We hope the players will be able to replicate what we see in training,” Abubakar said in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Wale Mustapha.
“They look ready and sharp, and if they can translate that into the game, I don’t think we will have any challenge winning the match. The three points are very crucial to us at this stage.”
Assessing their heavy defeat in Lagos, Abubakar,popularly known as Manaman,described the loss as disappointing and far below the team’s expectations.
He, however, stated that important lessons had been learned.
“Our last outing in Lagos was devastating and we are not accepting it from the technical crew because that is not our expectation But in football, when such things happen, you take it in good faith, return to the drawing board, and correct the lapses. We have done that, and positively, it will work in our favour on Wednesday,”he said.
Confluence Queens will be hoping their renewed confidence translates into a much-needed win as they welcome Remo Stars Ladies.
