The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, on Wednesday led a high-level confidence-building patrol along the Obajana–Kabba–Ayere Road in a renewed effort to assure residents and road users of their safety.
The patrol, conducted in company with the Kogi State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Rtd), is part of intensified security strategies aimed at deterring criminal activities and strengthening public trust in the Police.
CP Kankarofi, who has continued to champion proactive security interventions since assuming office, said the patrol was designed to boost the morale of officers and reassure the public that the Police remain fully alert and ready to respond to emerging threats.
He emphasized that the Command is committed to ensuring the safety of travellers and communities along the corridor, which is one of the state’s busiest routes.
During the operation, the CP engaged with officers on duty, assessed security deployments, and provided directives on improved response mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency.
The State Security Adviser, Commodore Omodara, commended the Commissioner of Police for the initiative, describing it as a timely and strategic move that will strengthen ongoing security arrangements across the state.
He noted that CP Kankarofi’s visible leadership and dedication to combating crime have continued to inspire confidence among security personnel and residents.
According to him, the patrol clearly demonstrates the Police Command’s resolve to maintain peace and security in Kogi State through collaboration, intelligence sharing, and community engagement.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining similar operations across all parts of the state to ensure a safe environment for businesses, travellers, and residents.
