The Egbira Peoples Association (EPA), Lafia branch, Nasarawa State, has reaffirmed its commitment to self-help initiatives aimed at enhancing the social and economic well-being of its members and promoting unity within the community.

The branch coordinator, Alhaji Hassan Chatta, made this known in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Lafia on Tuesday.

He noted that the era of waiting on government for every developmental need was over.

To this end, Chatta disclosed that the branch has begun constructing a befitting town hall where members can regularly convene to deliberate, exchange ideas, and chart the course for collective progress.

He explained that each member of the branch’s executive council has been tasked to contribute N80,000, while other general members are to contribute N10,000 annually towards the completion of the project.

“In addition to building the town hall, we are also exploring other programmes geared towards improving the welfare and overall development of our members,” he said.

Chatta, who commended the members for their enthusiasm and dedication to the project, encouraged them to remain steadfast in the spirit of unity and love that has defined the association since its inception.
