It was a spectacle of colour, cheers, and commerce on Monday as former governor of Kogi State, Capt Ichala Wada,a prominent members of Peoples Democratic Party”PDP and other politicians defected to
All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State.

Our correspondent reports that the event was not only a political milestone but also a bustling carnival for small-scale entrepreneurs.

From bread and soft drink vendors to souvenir hawkers and snack sellers, every available corner of Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, the venue event, was occupied by traders eager to cash in on the massive turnout.

Local restaurant owners and operators of recreational outlets also told The Reporters that they made record sales as thousands milled the area, seamlessly, for food and refreshments.

The crowd came alive with colourful attire, party regalia, and spirited flag-waving. Supporters chanted slogans and sang songs, describing the gathering as “the biggest political homecoming in recent times in Kogi State.”

For small business operators like Kande Aliu, who sold out her entire stock of drinks before midday, the event was “a blessing wrapped in politics.” Many at the rally agreed that party events such as this are not just about speeches, they are vibrant bazaars of hope, hustle, and history.
