The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a wanted drug baron, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, popularly known as “Chisco Bee,” after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
The suspect, who presented himself as a businessman and hotelier, was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Isolo area of Lagos.
According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, Ibemesi, 42, is the Managing Director/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nigeria Ltd. He was traced to his Daisy Garden Hotel located at 66-68 Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, where he was detained.
From there, NDLEA operatives led him to a warehouse at 7, Pius Ezeobi Street, Isolo, where 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of “Loud,” a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 1,762.8 kilograms, were seized.
Cash recovered from his residence at the point of arrest included:

In a separate operation in Osun State, a major drug syndicate operating in the Orita-Apeje, Araromi-Okeodo forest reserve, Ife South LGA, was busted. NDLEA operatives, after days of surveillance, seized 11,135 kilograms of processed skunk, destined for distribution across the country.
Two trucks loaded with the drugs,a Volvo marked WWR 29 XA and a Mercedes Benz marked AWK 713 YZ,were confiscated, and seven suspects arrested.
Additional raids in Edo, Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Kwara, and Lagos states led to the recovery of significant quantities of illegal drugs and arrests of multiple suspects. Highlights include:
1,902.1kg of skunk intercepted in different parts of Edo State.
396,000 capsules of Tramadol recovered at Aliyu Mustapha International Airport in Yola.
Nearly 800kg of cannabis recovered from a warehouse in Nasarawa State.
Multiple arrests in Lagos involving high-grade “Canadian Loud” and Ghana-grown cannabis.
A combined total of 14,440kg of skunk seized nationwide during the week.
NDLEA Chairman/CEO, Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.), commended the operatives involved in the various operations and urged them to sustain their efforts.
The agency said it has also intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA during the week, taking sensitization efforts to schools, religious institutions, workplaces, and communities nationwide, including secondary schools and technical colleges across multiple states.
