CUSTECH, Osara Hosts First International Education Conference to Advance 21st Century Learning

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, achieved a historic milestone as its Faculty of Science and Technology Education successfully hosted the university’s first International Education Conference.

This is contained in a statement from Information, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of the university and a copy made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday.

The event, which took place on Monday, November 11, 2025,
held at the University Auditorium, has the theme, “Innovative Approaches and Interdisciplinary Strategies for Advancing Education and Technology in the 21st Century.”

It brought together educators, scholars, and stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond to discuss emerging trends and challenges in modern education.

In his opening address, Vice Chancellor and Chief Host, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, commended the faculty for pioneering the groundbreaking conference.

He highlighted its significance as the first of its kind in CUSTECH’s history and urged participants to embrace innovative strategies that enhance teaching and learning.

“This conference is a platform for professional growth. I encourage you to go back home as better educators, equipped with innovative ideas to improve student learning,” Prof. Salawu said.

Delivering the keynote address titled “Reimagining Learning: Innovative Pathways for Training and Transforming Education through Technology in the 21st Century,” Prof. Uche S. Anaduaka of the University of Abuja, emphasized the need for educators to adapt to technological advancements to remain relevant in today’s dynamic educational environment.

The lead paper presented by Prof. Abdullahi Aliyu Dada of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, addressed “Exploring Innovative Approaches and Interdisciplinary Strategies for Advancing Higher Education in Nigeria.”

He advocated for the use of inclusive and interactive teaching methods to boost learning outcomes and promote educational equity.

Earlier, the Dean of the Faculty of Education CUSTECH, Osara, Prof. Emmanuel Jose Ohize, expressed gratitude to the university management for their support and encouraged participants to maximize the wealth of knowledge the conference offered.

Other principal officers in attendance include the University Librarian, Mr. Jeremiah Salifu, and the Director of Academic Planning, Pharm. Muhammed Asuku Audu, alongside deans and heads of departments from various faculties.
