MDA National President Bags Legacy True Leadership Award

The Chaplain Corps Nigeria (CHAP CORPS),has honoured the National President of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), Prince Jordan Akpata, with the Legacy True Leadership Award, for his outstanding and selfless service to God and humanity.

The award was presented on Thursday at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja, during the organization’s Passing Out Ceremony.

Speaking at the event, the Commandant General of the Chaplain Corps, Sam Keddy Balogun, described Prince Akpata’s contributions to humanity as “great, laudable, and commendable.”

He explained that the MDA’s activities under Akpata’s leadership align perfectly with the Corps’ philosophy of sacrificial and selfless service to God and humanity.

“It is in recognition of these values that the National Council of the Corps approved his nomination for this prestigious award,” Balogun said, while commending the MDA leadership and members for their relentless service to the Magongo community.

In his response, Prince Akpata thanked the Chaplain Corps for the honour, which he described as a motivation to continue contributing to community development.

He dedicated the award to the people of Magongo, assuring that his administration would build on its existing achievements in line with the association’s objectives.

“This award is not just about me; it is for the entire MDA National body, our branches within and in the diaspora, all age grades, affiliated clubs, associations, and individuals whose financial, moral, and physical support keep our vision alive,” he said.

Prince Akpata also appreciated prominent members of the Magongo community for supporting the association’s developmental programmes.

He highlighted some of MDA’s recent projects, including the construction of a pavilion at the Magongo Civic Centre, renovation of the police post office, building of an NYSC lodge and examination hall, drilling of boreholes, and empowerment initiatives for indigent residents among others.

Our correspondent reports that the event, which also featured national passing out-parade of CHAPCORPS ceremony, reviewing of parade,drew attendance from Chaplain Corps members across all states of the federation, including Niger, Kwara, Ekiti,Ondo, Abiga,Rivers,FCT and the host state, Kogi, among others.

Some other distinguished personalities were also honoured with awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community and societal development.
