The member representing Yagba-East Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Obaro, has donated patrol vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies operating within the constituency to enhance their operational efficiency.

In addition, the lawmaker inaugurated several community development projects, including the construction of lock-up shops at Itedo-Makutu, cash support grants for market women, classroom renovations at the Community Secondary School, Isanlu, and drainage projects in flood-prone areas.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Itedo-Makutu Central Garage, Isanlu, Hon. Obaro said the projects were part of his broader vision for people-centered governance aimed at improving the welfare and security of his constituents.

“Today’s event is not just a ceremony; it is a statement of commitment, responsibility, and people-centered governance
It reflects our dedication to empowering our people economically while ensuring their safety, education, and well-being,”he said.

On economic empowerment, the lawmaker explained that the newly built lock-up shops would provide traders and artisans with safe and conducive business spaces, while the cash grants would help market women expand their businesses and support their families.

“This grant is not a handout; it is a hand-up,an opportunity for women to grow their businesses, support their families, and strengthen our local economy,” Obaro added.

He further noted that the classroom renovations and drainage constructions were direct responses to community needs, designed to enhance learning environments and mitigate the effects of seasonal flooding.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Yagba-East Local Government, Hon. Joshua Dare Monday, commended Hon. Obaro for his developmental strides and pledged the council’s continued partnership in advancing the welfare and security of residents.

Also speaking, the Oluagba of Isanlu Makutu, His Royal Highness, Oba Ayo, lauded the legislator for his people-oriented initiatives, describing them as timely and impactful.

“These projects touch the very lives of our people. From education and security to market empowerment, Hon. Obaro has shown true concern for the welfare of our communities,” the monarch said.

Similarly, the Area Commander of the Yagba East Forest Guard, Adekunle Segun, appreciated the donation of patrol vehicles and motorcycles, noting that mobility had been a major challenge to their operations.

“We have been suffering from mobility, but with this gesture, our morale is lifted. Our men will now work harder to secure Yagba East and keep criminals away from our forests,” he stated.

Some of the beneficiaries also expressed gratitude to Hon. Obaro for his support and commitment to grassroots development.

The event attracted dignitaries, including government officials, traditional rulers, market leaders, security operatives, and community members, all of whom commended Hon. Obaro for his inclusive and visionary leadership.
