WARRI.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Comrade Francis Obule, JP, has described the recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “a welcome development that demonstrates unity of purpose and commitment to the delivery of good governance.”

Obule, who made the remark in Warri, applauded the growing support from APC leaders and party structures in Delta State for both President Tinubu’s second-term bid and Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style, particularly following the flag-off of the Effurun–Sapele–Benin Road reconstruction project.

According to him, the endorsement signifies “political maturity and patriotic collaboration” at a time when Nigerians are demanding tangible results rather than rhetoric.

“This is not about party lines. It is about leadership that delivers. President Tinubu is steering the nation with courage and reforms, while Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is transforming Delta State with people-centered projects. It is only natural for right-thinking citizens to commend and support such synergy,”Obule said.

Obule praised Governor Oborevwori for his decisive action in commencing the reconstruction of the failed portions of the Effurun–Sapele–Benin Road, a key economic corridor linking Delta and Edo States, which had been described as a death trap after years of neglect.

Our correspondent gathered that the ₦35.7 billion contract, awarded to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), covers a 10-kilometre stretch from the Effurun Spare Parts Market U-turn to Ohore Junction near Omenta Bridge.

“This road has caused untold hardship to commuters, traders, and transporters. Today, Governor Oborevwori has not only listened, he has acted, that is true leadership,” Obule noted.

He expressed optimism that the project, which features full dualization, reinforced concrete pavement, and stormwater drainage, would significantly reduce road accidents, travel time, and vehicle maintenance costs.

The governor’s MORE Agenda, Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security, according to Obule, has moved beyond campaign rhetoric to become a visible framework for development across the state.

“We are witnessing renovated schools, reconstructed roads, restored peace, and new opportunities for the youth. This is why even APC stakeholders can confidently support the Governor’s approach. Development has no political colour,” he said.

Obule also commended President Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, infrastructure initiatives, and commitment to strengthening federal-state collaboration, noting that such policies are laying a strong foundation for national progress.

He urged political actors across party lines to support both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in sustaining peace, stability, and development in the state and the nation.

“This endorsement is timely, well-deserved, and a call to action. We must put politics aside when the people’s interest is at stake. I am proud to serve under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is setting a new standard in governance, and I remain committed to promoting peace and prosperity in Delta State,” Obule said.
