The National Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Contributory Pension Scheme Sector (NUPCPS), Comrade Sylva C. Nwaiwu, has called on members of the union nationwide to earnestly pray for God’s intervention and the speedy recovery of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.
The appeal was contained in a statement issued through the NUPCPS National Prayer Director, Rev. Henry Omotosho, and signed by Comrade Nwaiwu on Monday.
“Referencing the above subject, I hereby, on behalf of the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Contributory Pension Scheme Sector (NUPCPS), request all members to earnestly pray for God’s intervention and quick recovery of the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun,” the statement read in part.
According to Nwaiwu, the Minister, like his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is a godly man and a beacon of hope, who has shown unwavering commitment to the welfare of Nigerian senior citizens and citizens in general.
“As senior citizens, let us all bend our knees in prayer and cry out to Almighty God in faith — in our closets and various prayer houses across all states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory,for divine intervention and the quick recovery of our dear Honourable Minister, Mr. Wale Edun.
“I strongly believe that Almighty God will honour our nationwide prayers on his behalf,” he added.
Meanwhile,Punch report which quoted presidency on Monday, said that Edun is recovering in his Abuja residence after falling ill,adding that no plans for his replacement.
