By Dada Ahmed.

The Chairman of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Association, Kogi State Branch, Engr. Mohammed Abdulsalam Sagir, has commiserated with the family of the late Hajiya Maimunat (Auta) Shehu Yabagi over her passing.

Hajiya Maimunat, mother of ABU Alumnus Alhaji Abubakar Tanko Ibrahim Yabagi, died recently in Lokoja. Her burial preparations took place on Saturday at the family residence in Cantonment Quarters, Ward ‘B’, Lokoja, before the final lay in state at the Muslim Cemetery in Angwan Kura in accordance with Islamic rites.

In his condolence message delivered on behalf of the Association, Engr. Sagir expressed deep sorrow over the loss and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul. He also prayed that Almighty Allah grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The late Hajiya Maimunat was the aunt of Dr. Abdulsalam Bawa Dangana and several other ABU Zaria Alumni, including Comptroller Abdulmajeed Ibrahim Yabagi of the Nigeria Immigration Service, a recent Awardee of the Association who was in Lokoja for the burial.

Engr. Sagir, while describing the deceased as a respected matriarch whose life impacted her family and community, said the Association shares in the family’s grief and stands in solidarity with them during this difficult period.

Meanwhile, members of the ABU Alumni Association, Kogi State Branch, have been advised to pay a condolence visit to the bereaved family at their residence in Lokoja as a mark of respect and fraternity.
