The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Ogun I Command Chapter, has donated mosquito nets and 50 pieces of bed sheets to the General Hospital and Customs Medical Center, Idiroko, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
This is disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Sango-Ota by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Zakari Chado.
According to Chado,the COWA delegation, led by its Chairperson, Mrs. Fausat Otunla, was warmly received at the General Hospital by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Margaret Kilanko , the Chief Matron, and other staff.
The association donated a large number of mosquito nets to patients and pregnant women attending antenatal clinics, in addition to the 50 bed sheets presented to the hospital,he added.
Speaking on behalf of the hospital management, Dr. Kilanko,expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that it would significantly improve patient welfare. She also assured the association of the hospital’s readiness to extend medical outreach to COWA members and their families.
Mrs. Sodiq Ola, who spoke on behalf of other expectant mothers, thanked COWA for the thoughtful donations and prayed for the association’s continued success.
In a similar gesture at the Customs Medical Centre, Idiroko, COWA donated mosquito nets and customized bed sheets. The items were received by Superintendent of Customs, Dr. Abdulmalik Zakariyyah, on behalf of the medical staff, who commended the association’s kind and impactful support.
While speaking during the visits, Mrs. Otunla stressed that the initiative was part of COWA’s ongoing commitment to community development and the well-being of families within and around Idiroko.
“This CSR activity once again underscores the compassionate vision of COWA and its contribution to the health and welfare of communities,” she said.
