The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has intensified grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia as part of early preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The State Unity Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Benjamin Omale, called on party members to demonstrate their loyalty by securing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing them as the most meaningful way to show support for Tinubu and Alia.

Speaking in Makurdi on Tuesday, Omale said the thanksgiving Mass recently held at NKST Church, Adikpo, in honour of Governor Alia and his appointees from Kwande Local Government Area, was a clear indication that the people desire the continuity of the APC government in 2027.

He noted that the large turnout at the event reflected confidence in the governor’s performance since assuming office in 2023, adding that Kwande people had already signaled strong support for Alia’s re-election.

The APC chairman commended the governor for appointing Kwande indigenes into his cabinet and praised Chief Moses Ternenge for mobilising grassroots participation in the thanksgiving.

Omale also lauded the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse, for openly endorsing the governor’s second-term ambition, stressing that traditional backing would further strengthen Alia’s chances in the next election.
