Summit University Offa Launches Drone Technology Scholarships, Empowering Next-Gen Engineers to Soa

The management of Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, says the university is charting a bold course into the future with the launch of a pioneering Drone Technology initiative.

According to the information from the university, the programme is aimed at training the next generation of engineers to design, build, and deploy Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that will transform industries and communities.

Anchored on the university’s Code – Compute – Connect philosophy, the initiative combines world-class training with hands-on innovation, the university said.

To drive this vision the institution added that it is offering special partial and full scholarships to 16 outstanding students/applicants in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Kola Balogun College of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering.

“The scholarship scheme is open to 12 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates and 4 Direct Entry (DE) candidates. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
“Five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects.

“A minimum score of 160 in the 2025 UTME (UTME 2025 only).

“JAMB subject combination of English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

“Successful candidates will gain access to cutting-edge facilities such as the Drone Simulation Laboratory, Drone Building Laboratory, Drone Communication Laboratory, and Laser Laboratory—where creativity meets research and real-world application.

“Applications close on 28th September 2025, while the scholarship examination will hold online on 29th September 2025. Resumption for successful candidates is scheduled for 5th October 2025.

“Summit University is committed to democratizing UAV and Drone Technology. Through this scholarship, we are lifting Offa to the Summit of the Skies by equipping brilliant young minds with the skills to innovate and lead in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries,” said the Coordinator, Drone Research and Innovation.
