The KGIRS Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited held its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 11, 2025, at Dafeyo Hotel, Lokoja, marking another milestone in the cooperative’s steady growth and impact.

The event was declared open by the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, who was represented by Mr. Alex Akande, Director of Administration and ICT.

He commended the outgoing executives for their exemplary stewardship, noting with satisfaction that no grievances had been recorded against the management—a reflection of prudent governance and member confidence.

Former President of the Cooperative and Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Internally Generated Revenue, Dr. Rahman Nasir Ichanyi, delivered a keynote presentation on strengthening cooperative efficiency. He highlighted strategies for aligning operations with the organisation’s mission, stressing innovation, transparency, and member-focused growth.

The Interim President, Mr. Emmanuel Ondoma, expressed gratitude to the KGIRS leadership for their continued support.

He also acknowledged Senator Yakubu Oseni, former KGIRS Chairman, for playing a pivotal role in the cooperative’s establishment. Ondoma further praised the dedication of executive members and staff, whose collaboration, he noted, has been central to the society’s progress.

In recognition of their contributions, past executives, including Dr. Rahman Nasir Ichanyi and Mr. Inutorise Bayo Joshua, were honoured for their service and commitment.

The highlight of the meeting was the election of new leaders to pilot the affairs of the society for the next two years.

Following the swearing-in, the newly elected President, Mr. Emmanuel Ondoma, pledged to run an inclusive administration, assuring members that even those who contested but did not secure positions would be given opportunities to contribute to the cooperative’s development.

The AGM reinforced the KGIRS Multi-Purpose Cooperative’s commitment to transparency, financial inclusion, and socioeconomic empowerment of its members.

With a new leadership team in place, the society is set to consolidate its achievements and expand its impact, in line with global best practices in cooperative management.
