A high-powered delegation of the Magongo Development Association (MDA) on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the Abuja residence of the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, over the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo, who died at the age of 83.

Speaking after the visit, the National President of MDA, Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata, said the association had earlier conveyed its condolences to the governor but felt it was important to complement that with a personal visit.

He noted that the gesture was a demonstration of solidarity with the governor in this trying period, adding that Governor Ododo has always been a pillar of support to the Magongo community.

“All we came to do was to identify with him at this difficult time because we see him as a father, a brother, and a son of our community. He has never disappointed us, and as the saying in the Bible goes, when one is crying, we must mourn with him, and when he rejoices, we should also rejoice with him,” Akpata said.

During the visit, the delegation expressed sympathy and respect, highlighting the strong bond between the Magongo community and Governor Ododo.

Members of the high-powered delegation include the National President of MDA,Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata, Prof. Malachi Daudu, Prof. Idumagbodi Amupitan, Justice Funke Anuwe, Justice F. Ajayi Orifunmishe, Mrs. Janet Onazi (Retired Director, FIRS), Dr. Benedict Mosimabale Soje, Amb. Anthony Awuru, Dr. Emmanuel Pelemo, Meka Adesina, and the founder of Ododo Vanguard Ogori-Magongo.

In his response, Governor Ododo thanked the delegation for their show of solidarity and urged members of the community to continue to support his administration with prayers, advice, and guidance.

He also called on the people of Kogi State to put aside their differences and work together for the progress of the state.
