Police in Kwara Confirm Armed Robbery on Rore/Arandun Highway,2 Killed

Armed robbery attack in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has claimed two person,the Police Command in the state has confirmed.

The Police Public Relations Officer, for the Police Command in the state,SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin, saying that said the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. along the Rore/Arandun highway.

According to her,the armed gang first stormed the residence of a businessman, Mr. Oyetoyan Dare, where they shot and killed his private security guard, Mr. Wale Ajiboye (40), who attempted to resist their operation.

In a related incident, the same gang ambushed a vehicle transporting farm produce from Ora, Osun State.

The driver, Mr. Taiye Yebi (38), was reportedly unaware of the ongoing robbery and was shot dead, while another passenger sustained minor injuries.

The Police image maker said Police operatives swiftly responded to the distress call, recovering both expended and live ammunition from the scene. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at a hospital morgue.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident and directed reinforced patrols within the area to prevent a recurrence.
