By Dada Ahmed, Lokoja.

Okene, Upogoro communities, and indeed Kogi State, continue to witness an outpouring of tributes following the death of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, father of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Among those who joined in consoling the governor is Daudu Hajia Maryam Ladi Ibrahim, FCNA, who described the late patriarch as “a man whose life was well spent in service to family, community, and humanity.”

In her condolence message made available to The Reporters Online in Lokoja on Friday, Hajia Ibrahim said the late Ododo left behind a befitting legacy in the person of his son, Governor Ododo, whose leadership qualities and administration in Kogi State, she noted with satisfaction, stand as a testimony to the sound upbringing and values instilled by his father.

“The late father has been vindicated via the proper upbringing of Governor Ododo, as seen in the excellent manner he is steering the affairs of Kogi State,” she remarked.

She prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljanaatul Firdaus and to bless the governor and the entire Ododo family with the strength to bear the painful and irreplaceable loss.

Daudu Ladi Ibrahim urged Kogites to rally around the governor by giving him the maximum support needed to succeed in office, stressing that such support would serve as a lasting tribute to the memory of his late father.

Our correspondent reports that since the announcement of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo’s death on Monday, the Upogoro and Okene communities have been thrown into mourning, with many residents describing him as a humble and respected elder whose legacy will live on through his children and community contributions.

A third-day Islamic prayer was held in honor of the deceased in Okene on Thursday, with people from all strata of society, including top government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, religious clerics, and well-wishers from across the state and beyond — in attendance.

Many of the well-wishers in their interviews with The Reporters believe that the prayer reflect the deep respect the late Alhaji Momohsani Ododo commanded during his lifetime.
