Governor Ododo’s Father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, Dies at 83

Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.

Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo,the father of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has passed away, aged 83.

According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, in Lokoja on Monday,the deceased died on Monday evening, August 18, 2025, adding that his Janazah and burial “will be held today” in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Kogi State Government has prayed for the repose of his soul and asked Allah to grant the Governor and his family the strength to bear the loss.

“We pray to Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus,” the statement read.

It further prayed for strength for the Governor, his family, and the entire Ododo family to bear the loss with fortitude.
