The Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Prof. Timothy Anake, has charged Nigerian youths to pursue careers driven by passion, guided by purpose, and sustained by persistence.

Prof. Anake gave the advice on Saturday during the Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony of Adedokun International Schools, held at Iyana-Iyesi, Ota, Ogun State.

Represented by Dr. Olasunmbo Agboola of the university’s Mathematics Department, the VC emphasized that a fulfilling career begins with passion—but must be transformed into valuable skills to have real-world impact.

“Passion is important, but it is not enough,” Anake said. “A clear purpose gives meaning to every step in your journey. Without purpose, success becomes hollow. And with persistence, you will overcome the inevitable challenges that lie ahead.”

He advised the graduating students to reflect on past experiences, learn from their mistakes, and strive to live lives that are purposeful, vibrant, and impactful.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the proprietress of the school, Alhaja Romoke Adedokun, urged the students to embody integrity, responsibility, and godliness in a world full of uncertainties.

She praised the graduates for their impressive achievements, particularly their outstanding performance in the recent JAMB examinations.

“Our students continue to stand out, not just locally, but on the national stage. These victories are more than just plaques; they are a testament to hard work and excellence,” she said.

In his welcome address, the principal of the school, Dr. Mike Fatukasi, commended the students for their dedication and resilience, noting that they had been equipped with both academic and life skills to excel in future endeavours.

He encouraged them to remain curious, creative, and compassionate as they step into the next phase of their lives.

Our correspondent reports that 92 students graduated from Adedokun International Schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.
