Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, Kogi state,has resumed live transmission following the swift repair of critical broadcast equipment vandalized by armed robbers last weekend.
Speaking on the development, the General Manager of the station, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh, attributed the quick restoration to the proactive intervention of the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama, through the North Central Zonal Director, Mallam Haruna Idris.
According to the GM, the Zonal Director, acting on the DG’s directive, promptly mobilized technical personnel and resources from the zone to repair the damaged transmitter and restore operations, ensuring that listeners continue to enjoy quality news and programming.
Alhaji Momohjimoh expressed deep appreciation to the FRCN leadership for their swift response and commended the commitment of staff members who have remained dedicated despite the setback.
He also extended gratitude to the Kogi State Government through the Ministry of Information and Communications, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) office in the state, the management of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, The Graphic Newspaper, Arise TV, Channels TV, and all practicing journalists in the state for their solidarity and support during the station’s downtime.
Our correspondent recalls that the station was attacked by armed robbers in the early hours of last Saturday, resulting in the destruction and theft of broadcasting equipment worth millions of naira.
